We went after dinner for a sweet craving and desert time. Located on the edge of the Kitsilano that serves exquisite pastries, some after diner tea and other drinks. There are many selections of different pastries from biscuits to their delicious flan.
Atmosphere
Rating:
A really small place not fitted for large groups. Really tight area, the lighting of the place was very clear. In a corner there was an area to try and smell different styles of tea. The display was very clear and clean. The cakes was very well placed in the glass and an island was set up in the middle of the store that had a lot of cookies, muffins and biscottis in bulk. Each table that was placed out had a really good setting.
Service
Rating:
The waiter that served us knew how to deal with large group of people, very attentive with our group and very patient with us. They didn't kick us out even though some people were waiting for seats. The people on staff answered all our questions we gave them, and the staff had a great personality.
Cleanliness
Rating:
The tables were nice and well set. The sanitation of the place looked amazing. The floor was clean as well. The washroom had this huge large mirror that goes from one side to the other side, it was wiped down and very clean. The plates, cups and utensil used were all white and sparkling clean. The display case that shows all the cake was very clean and well wiped down.
Food & Drinks:
Lemon Cheese Cake
$5.95
The cake was very thick, it had all the flavors of a lemon, a cheese cake and the cream. It was a little dull when they brought it out to us though. Could have presented better though.
Stawberry Smoothie
$3.40
We make better smoothies at home. It could have been sweeter, what we got was just ice and some strawberries, would like more strawberries or some sweetener. We would not recommend to our friends and other people. The only positivity behind it was that we could mix other fruits with the drink.
Hedgehog Cake
$5.95
A really chocolaty cake with full of crunch. Very fluffy layers in between each chocolate. The chocolate wasn't strong but a bitter sweet taste to it. The cream that they arranged on it was very sweet, with the hazelnut nut on the top. It gave the perfect touch of taste. Well done.
Would Food Talk Go Back?
Rating:
We would go back jut for the cakes and deserts they displayed. We wouldn't try the same drink but try one of their flavored teas. The prices were very pricey for a small amount that was given to us. We didn't mind much about it.
